Marketplace Rules

Simple rules, enforced hard.

Everything here exists for one reason: so a stranger's used parts arrive exactly as described, every time. Break the rules and listings come down; keep them and the Exchange works.

Listing standards

GradeWhat it meansThe test
New TakeoffMounted once at most, never road-driven — new without the boxZero wear anywhere, weights never mounted or stick-on only
ExcellentMounted and driven; no bends, no repairs, no visible flaws at arm’s lengthThe 3-foot test — nothing catches your eye
GoodHonest wear — light rash or marks on one or more wheels, fully straight and trueEvery flaw photographed, close-up, in the listing
FairHeavy cosmetics and/or a disclosed professional repair — project-grade, priced for itRepair documentation attached; runout stated
Not listableUnrepaired bends, cracks, or welds sold as anything elseInstant removal + refund — see enforcement
  • List the real part from the catalog. Specs prefill from factory data; if your part isn't in the catalog, the spec-check team adds it before approval.
  • Complete the condition report honestly. Bends, welds, repairs, rash, and refinishes must be disclosed and photographed — a repaired wheel sold as straight is an instant removal and refund.
  • Photos must be of the actual item. Catalog shots may appear only as labeled reference images. Minimum photo checklist enforced at listing.
  • Tires ship only inside wheel+tire sets, with the DOT date stamped in the listing. Sets with tires older than 6 years or below 4/32" can't be listed.
  • Serial/stamp photos required on forged and high-value wheels — listings are screened against theft reports.

Prohibited items

  • Counterfeit or replica-branded parts. Reps sold as reps under their real brand are fine; anything wearing a badge it didn't earn is banned.
  • Safety-critical used restraint hardware: airbags, seatbelt assemblies, and pretensioners.
  • Emissions-defeat devices and parts illegal for road use without an off-road disclosure the listing must carry.
  • Standalone used tires. They travel only on wheels, inside verified sets.
  • Anything you don't physically have. No presales, no drop-shipping, no brokering.

Pricing & fees

  • Sellers keep 100% as EE store credit, or take cash minus 8% — the fee applies only to cash payouts, never to store credit. Store credit is spent on the Exchange and across the Enthusiast Enterprises sites; it is not converted to cash.
  • No fee circumvention. Completing an Exchange-initiated deal off-platform (cash meetup, payment apps, "message me elsewhere") forfeits protection and the account.
  • Offers are binding once accepted. Backing out of accepted offers repeatedly ends selling privileges.
  • Boost (optional promoted placement): 2–6% of the final sale price, seller-selected — charged only when the item sells through a promoted spot. Sells organically or not at all? The boost costs $0. Promoted listings are always labeled.

Shipping

  • Ship within 5 business days on the prepaid label. Unshipped orders auto-cancel and refund on day 6.
  • Pack to the checklist. The packaging standards aren't suggestions — a wheel loose in a bare box voids seller protection on transit damage.
  • Local pickup is allowed only through the platform's pickup flow, which keeps escrow and inspection intact.

Claims — the 48-hour window

  • Inspect on arrival. You have 48 hours from delivery to open a claim before escrow releases to the seller.
  • Photos decide. Claims compare your photos against the listing's condition report — the referee reads evidence, not arguments. Most claims resolve within 24 hours.
  • Not as described = full refund, return label on us. Transit damage routes to the carrier coverage on every label.
  • "I changed my mind" isn't a claim. Fitment was verified before checkout; buyer's-remorse returns are at the seller's stated policy.
  • Refunds go back the way you paid — card amounts to the card, store credit to your wallet. Never a card payment turned into store credit.
  • Use the claim, not your bank. Your card was charged by Enthusiast Enterprises, so a bank dispute is a dispute with us. Open a claim first; a bank dispute filed against a ruling, or instead of a claim, can suspend your account.

Conduct & enforcement

  • Keep deals in messages. Sharing contact info to move a deal off-platform is the fastest way to lose an account.
  • Reviews describe transactions, not vendettas. Review extortion ("fix this or I 1-star you") is removed and sanctioned.
  • Three strikes, transparently. Rule violations earn documented strikes: warning → 30-day selling pause → removal. Fraud skips the line.
  • See something, report it. Every listing and message has a report button; reports route to human review with AI-assisted triage.

These rules summarize marketplace policy for the demo. The binding versions live in the Terms of Service once legal review completes.
